Mary created this sculpture from a small picture of her grandmother taken on Nel’s honeymoon. It was spring, Roy and Nel were herding their goats from the desert to high country. Nel is dressed in pants as there were unsavory minors along the way and she carried a pistol just to be sure. Just before getting married she filed homestead on land that is still part of the Cooper ranch.
